The Biographies!
John Brown (bass and vocals) is a local Maryland guy, went
to Wheaton HS, Montgomery College and University of
Maryland.

He was in his first band in 1966 as a drummer and back-up
Singer, later joining Cal Linthicum and the Corporation in
1967.
The Corporation opened for Jimi Hendrix and played
a Battle of the Bands with the Doors as the headliners.

Later, John formed his own trio called
Center where he was
drummer and became a lead singer for about 3 years
during the
"Love Generation."

He went on the road and was with a Las Vegas style show
group basedout of New York for 3 years as a drummer and
stand up singer.

In 1978, John went on the road with another show group as
a drummer, bass player and stand-up singer and then
retired from being a full-time musician.

In the late 90s, he went part-time as a drummer, bass
player and singer and performed with the
Team Network
Band
and Mosaic.

John founded
Boomerang early in 2007.

"My mother was a big band singer, piano and ukelele player
and gave me my training in harmony, rhythm and pitch. My
sister, Jane Lamar, was an outstanding bass player,
keyboardist and singer with whom I had the pleasure of
working in the mid to late 70's."
Cap Pendleton (guitar and vocals) was a Navy brat
and was born in Saipan, a part of the Mariana
Islands and traveled all over the world as a child.

He developed an interest in guitar during the Folkie
era and graduated to electric guitar and keyboards
by the time he was in college.

He played with a popular local "Sam and Dave" type
soul group in the 60's and became a singer
sometime around then as well.

After a long absence from the music scene he
began jamming with some ot the local musicians
and awakened the old desire to rock 'n roll again.

Playing for a few years with a local group he joined
Boomerang bringing his skills on the guitar and
keyboard as well as a fine,resonant baritone voice
as a lead singer and harmony guy.
Gary Garvin was raised in the Bethesda-Chevy Chase
area. He started playing rhythm guitar with Steve
"Sparks" Hubert in his first band back in 1965. Moving
to Boca Raton, FL for high school, he was very active
with groups and had taken up playing bass.

During his travels, Gary has played in bands in Florida,
New York (Long Island) and the D.C. metro area. He'll
play guiar and/or bass and has an equal love for both
instruments. Gibsons are his guitar of choice (Les
Pauls and SGs) and when it comes to bass, it's usually
either a Fender Jazz or Precision bass.

"A lot of us were blessed to have grown up to some
really good music during the 60s and 70s ...
and, we
want to pass it on.
"

Gary is also the bass player for the local group,

Second Wind Bandits

Gary Garvin
Hank Burnett (drums and vocals) was Washington, D.C.
raised and his roots are with Wilson Pickett, The Rolling
Stones, Deep Purple and Bob Seeger.

Some of Hank's early bands were God Mother Country
and The Kid Band. He played with the house band at
Millersville Inn, Hurricaine Dixie, with Richard Stone. They
later met up with singer/songwriter Mark Mansfield to
form the group, The Redeemers. Two albums followed.

Hank spent some time with the soul revue, the Jim Price
Band. He also joined a tux/casino circuit with The Wild
Bunch.

Aside from having a great sense of humor, Hank loves
visiting every amusement park known to man and is
addicted to roller coasters.
